Ms. Fang graduated with a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan in 2014 and also holds degrees from both Julliard and Yale. She has been featured at such prestigious venues as Alice Tully Hall, John F. Kennedy Center, Zankel Hall, Hill Auditorium, Peter J. Sharp Theater, Weill Recital Hall, and Steinway Hall, as well as appearing on stages in Europe and Asia.
She has soloed with numerous orchestras including the University of Michigan’s Symphony Band under Michael Haithcock, New Jersey Philharmonic, Battleground Symphony, and St. Mary’s Chamber Orchestra, where she was Artist-in-Residence. She has performed as a guest artist at such places as Boston Conservatory, Jacob’s Pillow Festival, and the Steinway Society Musicale.
Asked how she felt about her newly appointed position as pianist/co-artistic director of the Music Center, Ms. Fang said, “I am beyond thrilled to join the team at Garth Newel. This is truly a unique group and environment and I instantly fell in love with it the moment I arrived. I feel very lucky to work with such genuine and fabulous musicians as Teresa, Evelyn, and Isaac, and to play for the deeply supportive community here. I was very impressed by Shawn Puller's energy, enthusiasm, and ambition for the Center. He has great ideas for Garth Newel and I can't wait to get started! There is nothing I want to do more in life than to play good chamber music, and to do so with such wonderful personalities is like icing on the cake.”
“We are thrilled to add Jeannette Fang as the fourth member of the quartet,” says Executive Director Shawn Puller. “We are greatly looking forward to all of the strengths and skills that she has to add to the organization.”
Garth Newel Piano Quartet violinist, Teresa Ling says, “Jeannette is such an accomplished musician and amiable person. I know she is going to be a wonderful colleague!”
All of the staff at Garth Newel is looking forward to welcoming Jeannette to the Garth Newel family this fall.
