Get Close to Music—New Video

The chamber music experience at Garth Newel is exceptionally intimate and welcoming, for performers and audience alike. At GNMC, you truly are “close to music.”

In this video, you’ll hear from Executive Director Steve Wogaman and the members of the Garth Newel Piano Quartet (Isaac Melamed, cello; Jeannette Fang, piano; Teresa Ling, violin; and Fitz Gary, viola) about their experience of GNMC and the uplifting power of chamber music.

The music in the video is from Solstice (2018), a piano quartet written by David Biedenbender for the GNPQ and “the beautiful place they call home, the Garth Newel Music Center in Bath County in the Allegheny Mountains near Warm Springs, Virginia.”

Kudos and thanks to Tracy Fisher, Jeannette Fang’s husband, for creating this video.

Enjoy!

“Chamber music shows how four different ideas have come together and created a mega-idea that supersedes four individual points of view and encompasses all of them, and therefore is more meaningful.” — Jeannette Fang
